Triangle Expressway-NC's First Modern Toll Road

The Triangle Parkway toll road located in Research Triangle Park opened for business on December 8th, 2011, It is the first leg of the 18.8 mile Triangle Expressway which will run through Western Wake County to Holly Springs.
 
The N.C. Turnpike Authority opened with it electronic toll collection on January 3rd, 2012. By the end of November more than 2,700 drivers had purchased the N.C Quick Pass. The N.C Quick pass sells for $5.00 and is an electronic transponder that identifies individual cars as they drive on the expressway. The N.C. Quick Pass users have accounts with the turnpike authority which are debited per trip on the expressway. To set up an account for an electronic N.C. The new expressway should significantly cut down on commuter travel for Western Wake residents and add to properties values in the area.
